Biography
Born in Milan in 1988 to a family of musicians, Edoardo began to study violin at the age of four. He studied with the Russian violinist Sergej Krylov.
On 2005 at the age of 17, he graduated with honors at the Milano Conservatoire of Music and from 2005 to 2007 was tutored by Pierre Amoyal in Lausanne. Edoardo Zosi is also currently studying with Italian violinist Salvatore Accardo at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona and Accademia Chigiana in Siena and with Zakhar Bron.
Edoardo made his debut as a soloist in the Verdi Hall of the Milan Conservatoire in 1995, after which he performed in other major concert halls in Italy including Teatro Bibiena in Mantova, Teatro Politeama in Palermo, Bologna, Udine, Venezia, Padova, Roma, Bolzano, Trento and Milano.
Despite his young age, Edoardo Zosi has been awarded first prize in numerous competitions, and particularly the International Violin Competition “Viotti Valsesia” in 2003, where he was also the youngest competitor.
Abroad, Edoardo has played in Hungary, Poland, Switzerland, Romania, Ukraine, Austria. In Germany he made his debut in 2004 with the Berlin Philharmonic playing the Tchaikowsky Violin Concerto and in Stuttgart for the Silvester Konzert 2004. In France he performed at the Festival de Montpellier and Radio France:. The concert was broadcast on Radio France and the press called Edoardo the “real surprise of the 2004 Festival”.
In September 2005 he toured China ( where he returned successfully in Autumn 2012) performing in Canton, Shanghai and Beijing at the Poly Theatre.
He has been a soloist with the Deutsche Kammerorchester, la Camerata de Lausanne, Berliner Symphoniker, Orchestra Haydn, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, I Solisti Veneti, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Roumanian State Orchestra, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, China Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra, Wuerttem-bergische Philharmonic, NWD Philharmonic, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Prague Chamber Orchestra and collaborated with great artists such as Salvatore Accardo, Pierre Amoyal, Sergey Krylov, Anatol Ugorsky, Dimitri Sitkovesky, Enricque Diemecque, Alan Buribayev, Alexander Vedernikov, Bruno Canino, Fazil Say, Antonio Meneses, Bruno Giuranna, Aleksandar Madzar.
During Season 12/13 M° Zosi will perform for many important Concerts Series in recital; he will play as as soloist with prestigious Orchestras among the others with Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Muhay Tang conducting, in Saint-Saëns n.3 and Paganini n.2 and he successfully made his debut in Dublin with RTE National Symphony Orchestra and M° Buribayev in Bruch Violin Concerto n.1. He will perform with M° Fedoseyev and Stuttgarter Philharmoniker in 2015.
He recorded a CD with pianist Bruno Canino for the label Amadeus, dedicated to Strauss Sonata op 18 and Brahms Sonata op 108.
A new CD has been released in February 2012: Bruch Violin Concerto n.1 with Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, live recording.
Since 2012 has been appointed Violin Professor at Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
His instrument is a Santo Serafino dating 1745, violin on loan from the Pro Canale Foundation of Milano.
